For five years, I was
on the other side
of that email.
I'm Déborah Heberle. Fifteen-plus years in operations management — five of them building the instruments large clients use to judge their suppliers. Now I build that same visibility for small and mid-sized service and supply companies, so they can see themselves first.
I helped design the
instrument panel that
watches suppliers
At one of the biggest oil and gas companies in South America, I worked in the department that managed well-services contractors. I helped build the KPI systems, supplier scorecards, and performance review routines used to evaluate the companies delivering critical well operations.
These are the same instruments most suppliers never see, even as those instruments decide who keeps the contract. I sat in the meetings where trend lines ended relationships that handshakes had built.
My research on KPI implementation in oil & gas well services — documenting a 20 percent improvement in contractor performance — was published in the Sustainable Business International Journal and presented at an engineering seminar.
The mirror image
of that work
Since moving to Canada I've worked across operations, consulting, and education — including quality and risk coordination at a Vancouver post-secondary institution, where I build Power BI dashboards and support accreditation and compliance processes.
EngageQMS exists to give small and mid-sized operations the visibility that large clients already have about them. Not a certification program. Not a transformation. A working ability to see how work flows, measure the handful of things that matter, and decide from evidence — built in about three weeks and maintained in twenty minutes a week.
I'm also writing Managing Blind, a field guide on operational visibility for owners and managers of small and mid-sized companies. It's the argument above, worked out properly, with an exercise at the end of every chapter.
The paperwork,
stated plainly
I'll mention these once here and then try never to mention them again. What should earn your trust is whether the diagnosis is right, not what's framed on my wall.

Principles, not a methodology brochure
- Data over opinion. If we disagree, we go and look. Root cause before recommendation, every time.
- Plain language. Where a tool has an official name, I'll say it once so you can find the deeper water — then never again.
- Built to outlive me. Standard work, control plans, and a review rhythm, so gains hold after the invoice clears.
- Honest scoping. If your problem isn't one I should be solving, I'll tell you and point you somewhere better.
Working with me
- Based in North Vancouver, BC — splitting the year between Canada and Brazil.
- Async by design. Delivery is built to work across time zones, not to depend on me being in a room.
- English and Portuguese. I present and facilitate in both.
- Sectors: oil & gas, healthcare, hospitality, and education — plus manufacturing and professional services.
Let's start with
one process
Bring the one that frustrates you most. Thirty minutes, no charge, no deck. If there's something worth doing, we'll both know by the end of the call — and if there isn't, I'll say so.
